Irene, these are hilarious! The barber shop/hair places are the most creative. A few years ago, my cousin opened a salon. Located near the railroad tracks, she named the place Hair Depot.

Then there was that bar on The Walton's called the Dew Drop Inn.

I do a lot of free lance marketing and what fun it would be to market some of these companies! Shame they aren't here in the US!

Very, very funny!!

My favorite was the Edgar Scissorhands Barber Shop -- no thanks, I'll just do it myself!

By the way, I've been meaning to ask if you wanted to do a link exchange and should have asked a long time ago!

Ian said...

Tell me you didn't just sit there paging through the phone book for business names...

Lizza said...

Funny names! Very creative. :-) Then there's Harry Cutter (a beauty salon, whose sign used the font used in the books' and movies' title.)

Also an eatery called "Putahe ng Ina Mo." Haha!

It just makes it double the fun to say it and going to these places

Hi Irene,

You've been TAGGED!

=)

Irene said...

Sweet Susan: Always glad to make you smile, my dear friend. c",)

Ms. Val: Hahaha! At least brand recall won't be much of a problem for such uniquely named places! ;p

Handsome Houseband: Just because I made the hot coffee come out of your nose doesn't mean you have to get back at me by tagging me. Sigh!

Fine, fine! I'm on it... How can I refuse you? :p

Princess Shin: Yeah, Elizabeth Tailoring is now a pretty popular store around here. c",)

Poet Tom: I'm sure you have some zanily named stores from your part of the world, too! Creative people are everywhere!

Krystyna: Laughter is always a good way to start your day. :p

Alluring Alicia: I'm glad, too. HAHA!

Captivating Claudia: I'm happy you enjoyed the list!

Marvelous Michael: OF COURSE! Why did it take us so long??? I'll link you up at once. Wooohoo!

Indefatigable Ian: I'm not THAT patient. :p

Lovely Lizza: And in front of that eatery you mentioned, there is another one called: PUTAHE NG INA MO RIN! Bwahaha!

Krishna: Glad you found it funny. c",)

ZeroImpact: The crazy names surely give the places instant popularity. It's actually quite ingenious!

Gee, sure wish some of these businesses would move to Michigan; seems our state is really hurting from high unemployment. Had to laugh at the names.

Auuugh! Colorado *desperately* needs some of those. We are so horridly uncreative out here, with our Starbucks and "Best Ribs Ever" and "Sam's Pizza" places. To-the-point? yes. Creative: Nuh-uh.
